Daphne Beers

Therapy in English in Berlin
nach dem Heilpraktikergesetz

I provide trauma-informed, client-centered psychotherapy in English in Berlin. I am licensed as a Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie in Germany and work in private practice with individuals from my office in Neukölln.  Trained and licensed as a clinical social worker in the US, I strive to bring a feminist, systems perspective to the work we do together.

My work

I support clients through life transitions, in coping with depression and anxiety, and in attending to mental health in the perinatal period (pregnancy and postpartum). I have particular experience working with queer and LGBTQIA* folks, as well as people in poly and/or open relationship models. I welcome any and all people curious about their mental wellness and personal growth.

I have experience supporting clients with:

  • Anxiety
  • Attachment and Relationships
  • Depression
  • Questions related to LGBTQIA+ identity or experience
  • Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (e.g. Pregnancy and Postpartum, mental health challenges around birth and parenthood)
  • Sexuality and Sexual Health
  • Trauma

Using techniques from dialectical behavioral, cognitive, and client-centered therapy, I work with each client individually to tailor your treatment plan to you and your specific needs and wishes. I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership, and the foundation upon which healing and growth can occur. My approach is trauma-informed and critical of power relations within and outside of the therapeutic relationship.

Fees and Insurance

Because I practice as a Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie in Germany, my services are not covered by German statutory health insurance. Some private insurance plans will reimburse clients for all or a portion of my fees. We can figure this out together.
